Frequently Asked Questions

How many domain subjects can I choose for CUET?+

Candidates can typically choose up to a set number of domain subjects (check current NTA guidelines) alongside a language paper and the General Test.

Is the General Test compulsory for every university?+

Requirements vary by university and course. Vasedu's exam page for each participating university lists the exact combination needed.

Do I need to have studied a subject in Class 12 to pick it in CUET?+

Not always — many universities allow you to attempt a CUET domain subject even if you didn't study it in Class 12, though some specific courses do require it. Check each university's individual admission policy before choosing.

Is CUET compulsory for admission to Delhi University and other central universities?+

Yes, CUET (UG) is the mandatory entrance test for undergraduate admission to most central universities, including Delhi University, BHU, and Jamia Millia Islamia, replacing individual merit-list-based admissions.

Can I retake a CUET paper if I'm unhappy with my score?+

CUET is conducted once a year for most subjects, so there is no retake within the same cycle. Within the exam window, if your paper is affected by a technical issue, NTA may offer a re-test only for the affected candidates.

How is the CUET score used by universities?+

Each participating university sets its own merit list using CUET scores, often combined with domain-subject weightage relevant to the course. There is no single centralized rank — you'll need to check each university's admission portal separately.
